Installation and testing of the signalling system

Testing is a developing science. As technology moves on, the techniques employed will need to change. The basic requirement remains the same. We do not possess the ability to take a system apart, to examine it minutely for a defect that might lead to incidents or reliability problems later. Therefore, a sufficiently robust series of iterative tests is required. Iterative tests that will guarantee that an installation has been designed and installed to a standard that is both safe and fit for purpose.
