Underground distribution networks in urban historical areas: The city of Rome

The paper gives an overview about technical and practical problems in installation of electric distribution underground cables at low, medium and high voltage in the city of Rome, Italy. It shows as technical standards and legal requirements makes building works in the urban historical area very costly and difficult to carry out because of the constraints they have to comply with.
