Abstract :
This paper studies the problem of finite-time output feedback stabilization for a class of second order systems. A class of output feedback controllers that can achieve global finite-time stability for a class of second order linear systems are constructed. Furthermore, it is shown that the closed-loop system resulting from our control law can maintain its local finite-time stability regardless of the presence of a class of nonlinear perturbations. Thus, our control law actually applies to a large class of nonlinear second order systems
