Abstract
The methods and the instrumentation used to evaluate the exposure of users of portable RF transmitters are described in this paper. A simulated human, a robot positioner, and an RF-transparent implantable E-field probe are the instruments that allow the researcher to determine rapidly the peaks of the RF power absorption and the total power absorbed. The results of the measurements of the human exposure from a recently introduced Portable Data Terminal are described in detail.
