Abstract :
This paper proposes a signaling scheme for multiple pre-established connections supporting high speed communication and mobility in mobile ATM networks. This scheme provides the functions of concurrent pre-establishment and concurrent route changes for multiple connections by multicasting tree structured information that remotely controls ATM switches to pre-establish, enable, hold, and release the connections. This paper also shows that the proposed scheme offers appropriate handover controls depending on the properties of radio wave propagation and terminal mobility in service areas, such as urban areas and on highways
