Abstract :
The grey metabolism model is employed to explore the population problem of Zhanli Dong ethnic minority village which is honored as “The First Family Planning Village” for population development. The outcome shows that the population of Zhanli village will grow gradually in the following years. By analyzing the factors concerning population, it is derived that it must have the joint action from fertility system´s constraint, the old-age social security, the support of medical technology, and ideological education to maintain the current population situation. The customary population policy and historical changes happened in Zhanli are significant references for the world´s population controlling, especially in developing countries.
