Abstract :
Least-squares system matrix allocation is carried out generalizing the pole placement method. Control effort is constrained via feedback matrix norm or controller effort in L2. The paper bridges the gap between pole placement and accurate control effort limitation. The presented method is attractive for design problems where the limitation of the control effort and stabilization is more important than the predetermination of the exact pole location. The method is also useful for satisfying qualitative interrelation properties of the resulting closed-loop system matrix
