Abstract :
Numerical simulations concerning the dynamical behaviour of infinite periodic trains of optical solitons subjected to modulation of the position of each soliton, in a single mode optical fibre, are presented. Long distance propagation of periodic patterns of 8 bit solitons, was simulated to study the pulse position-modulation (PPM) coding. A novel pulse configuration that may propagate long distances at normal dispersion regime, of the optical fibre, is proposed and simulated using the PPM coding
