Abstract :
With the advent of the World Wide Web and ensuing explosive growth of the Internet, the challenge of finding relevant information online increases. This paper provides an overview of the most popular and useful tools for the task. Core Internet search and retrieval technologies are covered along with search, directory and review services. Each tool is described with its name, location, sponsor, features, coverage of the Internet, advantages, disadvantages, usage tips and historical notes. Due to the rapid rate of evolution of Internet tools, some of this paper will be out of date by the time it\´s published.
