Abstract
The Naverage energy per scintillation photon in NaI(Tl) crystals of 3" in diameter is determined to be 14.40±0.14eV using a combination of experimental methods and Monte-Carlo simulations. The factors affecting the energy resolution is also examined from the point of the number of photons. The calculated resolution agrees well with the measured resolution.
