Abstract :
An overview of the challenges that will be faced in designing and evaluating navigation support for future retrofits and new CANDU nuclear power plants with multiple video display units (VDUs) is provided. The author discusses the impact of navigation support on operator performance, identifies navigation aids, describes ways to organize displays, proposes evaluation options, and outlines the direction of future work aiming to meet CANDU operator needs.<>
