Abstract :
To make multiprocessor parallel system which is made up often float digital signal processors TMS320C6713 work cooperatively and exchange data flexibly, the design that uses switched Ethernet as the communication method among processors is presented. The protocol conversion between serial port of DSP and reduced medium independent interface of Ethernet switch controller RTL8316 is realized by FPGA, so DSP can transmit and receive data by Ethernet. In order to improve communication reliability and reduce the communication protocol, forward error correction is presented. In view of character of application condition, (7,4) hamming cyclic code is used to correct stochastic communication errors, the cyclic coder and encoder based on error pattern identification are realized by FPGA. Lastly, a larger scale parallel system can be realized when multiple system referred above are connected with each other because of the expansibility of Ethernet architecture.
