Abstract
Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) has specified a device management technology which is being used for management of mobile device settings/configuration. The same technology is used for delivering large objects that are necessary for configuring or enhancing the user experience. During mobility related connection losses or device initiated session terminations, such large objects delivery is prone to extra connectivity costs/additional time due to redeliveries. The proposed new mechanism shows how a partly delivered content can be resumed to complete the large object delivery rather than restarting the delivery from beginning, without modifying the underlying protocol. This adds to the improved usability and cost efficient device configuration.
