Abstract
A complete eTextBook with multiple executable elements has been created and Web-based versions have been placed in the National Science Digital Library. The book´s file formats and executable elements were chosen to be platform-independent, highly useable, and free. Although future technologies and operating systems promise improved executable books, this eTextbook highlights some of the features possible with existing technologies. The prototype eTextBook includes text, computational laboratories, demonstrations, and video-based lecture modules.
