Abstract
Exposure standards currently recommended by international health organizations and under consideration by U.S. Governmental Agencies restrict the occupational exposure to 500 µW/cm2and the environmental (general public) limit to 200 µW/cm2in the band of land mobile frequencies. This paper discusses the options open to the manufacturers and the designers of mobile and personal transmitters in this rapidly changing regulatory scenario.
