Abstract :
In the UHF land mobile radio service the received field strength is impaired by buildings and vegetation. The well-known empirical formulas of Hata generally used for field-strength estimates are compared with measurements performed in the Rhine-Main area in the Federal Republic of Germany. The various influences of buildings and vegetation at 450 MHz and 900 MHz and their statistical distribution are investigated.
