  • Abstract
    The theory of fuzzy sets is applied to enhance X-ray images. The presented algorithm includes a prior enhancement of the contrast in regions using fuzzy operators along with smoothing in a fuzzy property plane which is extracted from the spatial domain using S, π, and 1-π functions. The performance of they system is illustrated by application to an image of human skull
