Abstract :
A need was perceived for a comparison between the standard deviations of the lognormal distributions of mobile signal strength in various well-defined types of terrain. While conducting the survey, it was unexpectedly observed that an overwhelming proportion of the area consisted of flat suburban terrain, leaving insufficient data to analyze the characteristics of any other type of terrain. However, the tests succeeded in characterizing the one type of terrain, while eliminating the undesireable influences of other terrain types.
