Abstract
In view of the nonlinearity and time-varying parameters of ship maneuvering, a new type of marine autopilot is put forward that is made up of a Bang-Bang controller and a fuzzy artificial neural network (FANN) controller. It improves the quality of ship maneuvering. In this paper, the autopilot based on FANN controller is compared with the general fuzzy Autopilot in performance by simulation. The result shows that the method proposed in this paper has the good control performance.
