  • Abstract
    Since their introduction in May of ´95, Java and HotJava have revolutionized how people think about the Web and software. Many major companies have since licensed the technology which is well on its way to being an established presence on the Internet. There are many details that made this technology successful. This paper is an attempt to give an overview of the technology as a whole and explain some of the impact it might have on the future of hardware and software.
