Abstract
The authors present a monolithic phased-array antenna and, in particular, describe the application of slotline (or notch) radiating elements in an array to form an agile beam for a +or-60 degrees scan with respect to array boresight. The antenna is constructed of building blocks using integrated printed circuit antenna and MMIC (monolithic microwave integrated circuit) technology to reduce the manufacturing complexity and cost. Two 7*7 element slotline subarrays were designed, fabricated, and tested to demonstrate the design concept. Measured results indicated that mutual coupling or active element pattern varies substantially with the orientation of these slotline radiators.<>
