Abstract :
With the purpose of providing support for WSN solutions, that require the execution of coordinated events between multiple device units, a time synchronization protocol based on a simplified version of the IEEE 1588 standard was developed. Additionally, a clock syntonization algorithm to reduce the offset error between synchronization points was also developed, allowing the increase of the synchronization period. Practical results show offset errors lower than 5 microseconds for a synchronization period of 30 seconds.
