Abstract
In recent years Demand Time Assigned Speech Interpolation (D-TASI) system has been proposed to alleviate the problem of spectrum shortages. In D-TASI system, delay in accessing message channel to transmit a voice packet is identified as a major obstacle in its practical implementation. Theoretical models and computer simulation packages have been developed for the three proposed access schemes - ALOHA, Polling, and Table Driven. Probability of call blocking as a function of user population, voice channel traffic intensity and time slot duration have been studied.
