Abstract
Integrated fingerprint imaging comprises a sensor capturing the fingerprint as whole or in parts in combination with an ASIC for controlling data acquisition and for processing data obtained by the sensor. To reduce sensor size and costs partial fingerprint sensors are introduced where the finger swipes across the sensor obtaining a whole fingerprint image by stitching partial images together or reconstructing the image from the partially overlapping subsections using various mathematical strategies of cross-correlation.
