Abstract
In this work we present the mathematical analysis of the OSSS protocol of Omiyi et al (1998), under the assumption of a model with an infinite number of users, retransmissions following delayed or corrupted packets, and deferred/initial first transmission. The results presented show a numerical solution that closely follows that obtained by discrete event simulation, and gives us an insight on the applicability of the protocol for real-time and loss-of-traffic sensitive applications.
