Abstract :
Design for environment is becoming a more important concept to companies and organisations wishing to pursue the implementation of `clean electronics´. Within this framework, different environmental computer tools are becoming increasingly requested for making environmentally sound decisions. Designers especially are calling for DFE computer tools to help them make environmentally-conscious decisions throughout the product development cycle. This paper presents the continuing research being carried out at Manchester Metropolitan University in collaboration with BNR Europe Ltd (Harlow site, UK) and describes how DFE tools can be integrated into the product development process
