Abstract
A review is presented of contemporary motion monitoring systems with respect to their spatio-temporal resolution, expressed by the quality factor Q ST=√R/p , where R is the sampling rate and p is the precision. The focus is on the PRIMAS motion analysis system. The theory of spatio-temporal resolution is outlined, and the application of PRIMAS to mandibular movement studies is briefly discussed
