Abstract
This paper presents the duo-bimorph, an easy-to-produce monolithic piezoelectric actuator, able to provide two uncoupled degrees of freedom under some conditions, and describes its functioning. The analytical model of the duo-bimorph is commented and the uncoupling conditions are established. The analytical results are compared with finite element analysis simulations. The advantages of the actuator are outlined and its performance are discussed.
