Abstract
This paper presents the basic bifurcation phenomena of structure-preserving power system model. For a given load increase scenario, all possible bifurcations are systematically traced via a continuation algorithm in the MATLAB environment. At each bifurcation point, invariant subspace parametric sensitivity (ISPS) is applied to find the parameters that are responsible for a given instability
