Abstract :
This paper describes an intelligent system for creating teaching modules utilizing a database of training components that are adaptively integrated to generate presentations for use by a wide range of audiences with varying levels of educational background. Content development and presentation for training on emerging technologies is a challenge and often does not lend for reusing monolithic training material generally targeting a specific audience. We overcome this challenge by developing a system that stores the set of reusable training components and records their relevance to the various topics and the level of preparation needed from the target audience. The task of creating a presentation is thus reduced to a constraint satisfaction problem where the set of components that satisfy the requisite constraints are glued together to form the full presentation. We have successfully utilized this system for creating bioinformatics presentations for high school, undergraduate, and graduate students
