Abstract :
The paper deals with issue of advanced event filtering in distributed management systems using CORBA as the main technology bus. First, the paper presents briefly a general design of the OMG Event and Notification Services and discusses some of their drawbacks, especially insufficient support for event filtering. Second, the paper contains the proposition of an advanced filtering approach with the filter service. Finally, it discusses the Java implementation of the filter service
