Abstract
This paper discusses the chief techniques and design principles of an embedded virtual digital storage oscilloscope, which have two working mode: oscilloscope and data acquisition. The instrument consists of pre-process circuit, A/D converter, on-board memories, high-speed clock generator and control circuit integrated in FPGA. It can concatenate embedded CPU main board through PC/104 bus, and also can achieve 8-bit resolution allowing up to 1 GHz sampling rate with 256KByte/channel on-board real-time memory.
