Abstract :
This paper presents a Windows´95-based graphic user interface (GUI) conceived as a laboratory support for digital signal processing courses and DSP assembly code development. It is called IPDSP-Integrated Platform for Digital Signal Processing. Some important features of IPDSP are described here, like its capability of graphically checking designed digital filters, via the corresponding approximated transfer function, the synthesized network and the impulse response. This last one is intended to be a tool for checking the rightness of the program written to run the designed filter on the DSP. Another important feature is the system capability of allowing the user to visually check the running program via the oscilloscope and spectrum analyzer included in the software, both implemented in the host PC machine where the whole system is installed. Other important features, like tools for DSP assembly code editing, debugging, assembling and running (with the possibility of including breakpoints), or even for execution time measuring, are also described, as well as their suitability as digital signal processing learning tools is addressed. Examples on how to use the IPDSP facilities are also shown
