Abstract
Nowadays capacitive sensors are used in many fields of applications. This type of sensors presents good measurement performances, simple structure, low power consumption, but on the other hand they are potentially susceptible to environmental interferences. This work presents a capacitive angular position sensor with a contactless electrically-floating conductive rotor and a readout electronic circuit, designed to maximize the performance-cost ratio. The sensor includes two separate and independent measurement sections that sense the same angle and provide redundancy in critical applications.
