Abstract :
There is a constant need for the development of new, innovative, small, cost effective antennas for microwave and millimeter wave applications in communications and radars. Recently, there has been increased interest in dielectric resonator antennas in view of the many advantages they offer such as high efficiency, wide bandwidth and flexibility in terms of fabrication and mode configuration. At the Royal Military College (RMC), an extensive research program has been undertaken jointly with the Communications Research Centre in Ottawa over the last ten years. This presentation addresses some aspects of this research and outlines future directions for possible innovations.
