  • Abstract
A personal computer has been integrated with custom-designed hardware and digital signal processor (DSP) technology for use in research in electrical stimulation of the auditory system. Built around a dual-bus architecture, the programmable system can generate stimuli on multiple channels and implement speech processing strategies in real time. Built-in safety features help guard against undesirable stimulation. A description is given of the system components and the safety features
