Abstract :
The author discusses the use of NMR imaging in overcoming the restrictions of traditional testing methods (X-ray radiography and ultrasonics) since the image produced is independent of the object thickness or shape. Examples from object detection and localised spectroscopy are given. Limitations to uses in a manufacturing environment are briefly outlined
