Abstract :
Summary form only given: Many diverse nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) instruments and systems for industrial and other specialized applications have been developed. Many of these systems employ large sample volumes and typically low magnetic fields utilizing various types of magnet configurations, and of different magnet types. Both steady-state NMR and transient NMR techniques provided measurements on a very diverse spectrum of materials, inspection and industrial applications are described. Practical considerations and special techniques required for successful implementation of the technology are discussed. The following areas are included: high RF power generation, probe design for high power, Clark-McNeil transmit-receive networks, electric field effects, selection of magnet types for particular applications, limitations of one-sided access type probes and magnets, considerations in flowing applications, and ruggedized packaging of probes and electronics
