Abstract :
Embedding a FBG with polymer could improve the pressure sensitivity of a sensor. Based on the theory of elastic mechanics, considered the polymer with optical fiber transversely isotropy, which is encapsulated in the metal tube and 3 components of stress are not equal, the relation between the shift of Bragg wavelength and the pressure is proposed. How to improve the pressure sensitivity is also discussed. It is useful for designing a fiber grating sensor.
