Abstract :
This paper gives a method to compress image data on the basis of wavelet analysis. The resolution coefficient has been well coded. The method takes the respective characteristic of the three high-frequency parts into account. Moreover, it overcomes some shortcomings of the international standard still image compression method (JPEG protocol)
