Abstract
A path from a source node to a destination node in Vehicular Ad hoc NETwork (VANET) often suffers broken due to the movement of nodes. In this paper, path probability in a two-dimension scenario is analyzed. With the assumption that vehicles are randomly distributed in a two-dimension grid map, and that all the nodes have the same transmission range. The analysis shows the following results. Number of turns and distance between the source and destination deteriorate path connectivity when they rise. However, path probability will benefit from the increment of transmission range and density of vehicles. The results are helpful to design better routing algorithms in VANET.
