Abstract :
In order to achieve real-time location of urban buses, intelligent urban bus vehicle positioning system is developed by the technologies of GPRS, ZigBee and geographical information system (GIS). Realization of positioning adopts methods of received signal strength indicator (RSSI) and maximum likelihood. The system has data transmission interface of GPRS transmission module Huawei´s GTM900C and ZigBee wireless transmission module TI´s CC2530. It can record traveling data from vehicular terminal. Being processed and stored in the database, the data can help analyze the current location of the buses. It is easy for scheduling of vehicles and waiting buses through using this system, which has merits of low power, low cost and high practical value.
