Abstract
An approach to color image representation is described that allows high accuracy in the spectral dimension and that leads to possibilities in color image analysis and to novel analysis methods. A color image can be stored in the same space in the computer´s memory as a conventional red, green, and blue image, which makes it possible to reconstruct the whole color spectrum of each pixel. Fast optically realizable parallel processing implementations are also discussed
