Abstract :
This paper proposes a method for operational scheduling of distributed energy resources, including wind power generation, photovoltaic power generation, battery storage systems (BSSs), electric vehicles (EVs) and demand response (DR), in a smart grid distribution system. Daily time-varying wind and solar power products and loads are considered in the operational planning problem, which is solved by genetic algorithm (GA) to determine the BSS charging/discharging scheduling and electric loads to be transferred from consumers during different time periods subject to all technical constraints for system operation and equipment. Test results of an IEEE feeder test system are presented and used to explore the benefits of the distribution energy resources scheduling to system operations and to ensure the performance of proposed method.
