Abstract
This paper addresses the problem of constrained stabilization of power converters. More specifically, it deals with power converters described by either linear or bilinear discrete-time averaged models. Within the synthesis method a search for an affine state-feedback control law is performed, such that a predefined polytopic subset of the state-space becomes contractive for the closed-loop system. The method is further extended to piecewise affine controller synthesis over a non-convex domain of attraction. The controller synthesis problem is formulated as a linear program and can be efficiently solved even for bilinear models. The application of the method for a buck and a buck-boost converter, respectively, is illustrated on two case studies. Both simulations results and real-life experimental data are provided. Several suggestions regarding the hardware implementation of the controllers are given.
