Abstract
WMN (Wireless Mesh Network) attracts more and more attentions for its properties of high throughput, reliability and so on. While OR (Opportunistic Routing) is one of the “hot spots” in WMN. This paper describes HTOA, a system that aims to improve the throughput of wireless mesh networks. Any nodes act as a forwarder need to mix the “symbols” using network coding before sending messages. HTOA operates on “symbols”, which include several bits that the code treats as a single value [3]. HTOA codes the symbols intended which can reflect the condition of the forwarder´s receiving packet. So the senders can transmit the symbols which may be corrupted in forwarders intended to minimize the transmission and improve the throughput at last. A simulation was designed in NS2. According to the experiment result, HTOA outperforms ExOR and MORE.
