Abstract :
The requirements of digital to analogue converters (DAC) for metrology testing of precision and intelligent sensor based physical quantity measurement systems are formalized in this paper. The proposed double cascade DAC uses 12-bit DACs and provides the same error as 16...19-bit DACs for testing of error correction functions of intelligent measurement systems. The proposed structure is investigated by analytical and experimental methods. Also presented are ways of using the proposed ADC in thermocouple signal measurement system applications.
