Abstract :
A new model of lifetime of LA batteries in smart grid scenario is proposed. The model falls in the category of “fatigue models” and is able to take into account the detrimental effect of cycling the battery at different values of final SOC. Its main characteristic is that it is easy to implement and it only requires the well known CF vs. DOD graphs that are usually given by the manufacturers. Two case studies proposed by an EU project demonstrate the accuracy of the proposed model despite its simplicity.
