Abstract :
DC negative corona discharge was studied in liquid Ar near the triple point. A regular current pulse regime was observed. Pulse duration and frequency depended on liquid purification (i.e. oxygen content) and their values determined the corona current. Pulses had triangle-like shape with a very fast rise time. The results of numerical simulation of Trichel pulses in low pressure gases were used for evaluation of current pulse parameters, in particular the cathode fall region, in liquid Ar
