Abstract
Today, permanent magnet motor drives are used in more and more applications. In a number of cases, rapid current control is needed, so that the power converter can be operated close to its current limit, and a fast torque response is obtained over the complete speed range. Such a fast torque control can be obtained using an appropriate feedforward structure. However, parameter variations due to saturation may compromise the performance of such a control. This paper presents an improved feedforward structure resulting in excellent dynamic performance over a wide speed, voltage and current range
